Darwin hybrid tulips are among the most popular landscape varieties because of their large cup-shaped petals and brilliant flower colors. They bloom from mid 'til late season. These tulips are excellent for mass displays or smaller groupings, and combine well with daffodils and hyacinths. The tall stems of Darwin hybrids stand up even under poor weather conditions. They make great cut flowers!
How about acting out the Patriot Act by planting these tulips? The wonderful large flower petals of 'American Dream' have a yellow base with fiery red edges that will certainly be eye catching in the garden. Mixing them with solid yellow or red tulips from the same Darwin family makes for an interesting mass planting.
